Hi, I'm Joel Ross, newborn and wedding photographer in Winnipeg, Manitoba! I'm loving being able to update daily and keep in touch with clients and friends in such a visual and interactive way. Thank you for taking the time to checkout what I've been up to lately. Take some inspiration and leave some thoughts!
I'm passionate about capturing exactly what you have in mind and value your thoughts and inspiration. I love the romantic and candid moments that when developed stir alive the emotions of anticipation. I'm charismatic and have an innate ability to identify with my clients, guaranteeing breathtaking photos that materialize the perfect session.
Since beginning my career in 1996, I've been awarded Photographer of the Year, have spoken at various photography conventions around the world, and have enjoyed photographing over 1000 weddings, offering you the assurance that my experience matches my enthusiasm. But more than anything I want you to look back on your experience with me and LOVE IT!
Besides loving my craft, I am in love with my wife Eve and our two precious daughters, one who looks just like Eve, and the other who looks just like me! I love God, my scooter, red wine, espresso, and spending time with family. I think it's because of my passions and values that I strive to capture the uniqueness of each love story in the unique way that I do, a sensitivity to my art surpassed only with my passion for an extraordinary client experience.
Just finished Raman and Sunny’s 5 day wedding celebration. For those who have never been to an East Indian Wedding, they’re of other world proportions… partying and crown royal, bling, singing and dancing, and more bling – amazing!! I had just finished Raman and Sunny’s engagement photographs a few months ago and was really looking forward to their wedding and believe me, it was worth the wait. It’s amazing when most couples pull off a 1 day event, but they did it for 5 days straight!
Best way to show some highlight pix is to break it up over a few posts… besides, I’m going out of town for a few days and its past my bedtime so tonight I’ll keep it short. Normally I’d start at the beginning of the wedding, but the reception detail looked so amazing in the Delta Hotel in Winnipeg, decorated by Emma Singh, so let’s start there… kinda like starting with the dessert!
Events by Emma created this most spectacular reception venue... now this doesn't look like we're in Winnipeg - nice job Emma!
An amazing looking candy bar Emma style... LOVED by the kids both short and tall
One of the many creative touches at the reception.
Absolutely stunning centre pieces and detailed with special touches from the wedding's theme!
The light was just gorgeous as we started Raman and Sunny's shoot on Sunday afternoon. Love the white marble walls!
Good looking couple and very stylish!
Raman looked stunningly gorgeous!
The room looked amazing and their first dance was perfect... and the lighting didn't hurt a bit!
Congratulations Raman and Sunny - thanks for letting me be part of your wedding celebration!
Hey Joel Rossers, are any of you concerned about losing your hair?
Hair loss, receding hair lines and balding affects a lot of people and whose effects are, well, a big pain in the neck. On July 1st, KIVO Clinic opened their first hair loss prevention clinic in Winnipeg on the second floor of our building. If you or someone you know is dealing with hair loss, send them in to talk about their concerns and discuss what the latest technology in hair loss prevention can do for them – they’ll thank you for it!
Check out their site for lots of interesting videos and helpful information on hair loss causes, hair loss prevention, and low level laser therapy for hair growth. http://www.kivoclinic.com While not a “magic bullet” for everyone, laser therapy is extremely effective in the early stages of hair loss, is completely natural without side effects, and is great in preparation for your upcoming wedding or for post pregnancy hair loss too. The sooner your start, the better your results will be. Check it out!
I knew right from their E session that Noel and Yoanne’s wedding was going to be so much fun. These two are quicky and FUN and LOVE the camera… and of course, that makes me love them!!
Thanks MOM for the delicious food you fed me while Yoanne was getting ready… I thought I’d died and gone to a restaurant – wow are you a good cook
I hope you two have an amazing time in Europe. Take some pix of Italy for me… one of my fave countries of all time.
Checkout their highlights video. More pix on their way shortly.
Congrats to Tamara on being chosen as one of Winnipeg’s top-dressed bride’s of the year! Sporting a vintage hat and dress, she pulled off an amazing look in the August issue of Weddings in Winnipeg!
Selected for one of Winnipeg's best dressed brides of the year!
Just got word that Shannon and Warren – one of my most awesome couples from last summer – are being featured in this month’s issue of Weddings in Winnipeg Magazine. Each month bride’s are asked questions about their day… what things did you love? what things would you change? what things might you do differently? It’s an awesome column so if you get the chance, check it out!
As featured in Weddings in Winnipeg magazine July 2010
Congrats Abby and David on your awesome wedding day and party night – wow did I learn a few new dance moves I can’t wait to try! (you’ll have to wait for your proof images to see which I mean… but trust me, you’ll know when you see em:))
There were so many cool things about your day, but one of the coolest ever is the image of THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND WAVING AT YOU!!! Hello! I couldn’t believe it! Love it love it love it! She couldn’t have waved at a sweeter couple
Congratulations to Jennifer and Logan on their big day last weekend in Kenora. While the forecast wasn’t looking too dry (like most days this summer!) we’d just finished up the pictures and a gorgeous lakeside ceremony as the rain showers began – just in time once again!
Classic Husky the Musky!
Another summer classic shot. This had to have been the hottest day this summer!
Gotta love the architecture all over Kenora!
Love the artwork of the talented Melissa Jean. Go see more of super talented Kenora artist Melissa Jean at http://www.melissajeanart.com

June 21, 2010 - 1:37 pmKiran - These are very nice! Clearly the photographer had his work cut out with making you to look good.....haha JK!! :-)
My favourite is the second last one.
CONGRATULATIONS
Kiran
Last night was RAINY and WINDY and getting dark but instead of rescheduling, Natalia and Sean wanted to have fun and get the shoot going. So after a few shots we had an awesome time together exploring new ideas and coming up with some awesome images. You guys are a dream to shoot and I can’t wait for your big day!
I can’t believe Mykola’s already turning one. Seemed like just yesterday his mom and dad brought him to the studio for his newborn session and oillaa a year goes by. Well he’s got the cutest smile and best eyes… wonder who he got those from mom! and he’s such a joy to photograph.
A cool little bit of info… his wagon was brought to Canada from Italy with his father when he was only 4 years old. Is that not the coolest prop ever!
